Peace, homie

Don't you have something better to do

Ponderance

I wish I had the same attitude as Gabe. For realz. I really don't know how he does it. He is really patient with people and sees only the good in them. Were I him, I wouldn't even be friends with me... not after how I have treated him. [I push away the people who care sometimes, because I'm scared I'll end up hurt.] But, he is able to see past that and not let it affect him. I don't even think he is able to see how he could potentially end up hurt, because he won't LET himself end up hurt. I really look up to him for that. =]

There may come a day where he doesn't like my best friend, but you know what? he wouldn't let that affect him. I once had a boyfriend who gave me an ultimatum. Tom or him. I thought about it for a little while and ignored it. Then I began to notice how I was drifting away from Tom because of that boyfriend. So? I dropped that boyfriend. No one gets between me and Tom. No one gets between me and Bex.

BYU Idaho is changing me. I have learned some amazing things, and I'm not even thinking of academically. I believe learning academics is not as important as learning life-long lessons. I'm not going to list it out. But rest assured...

AHH! Rest Assured That With A Heart That's Pure We'll Be Victorious And Not Let Our Hate Get The Best Of Us! =] =] =] Jassie-faceeeeee! =]

Where I come from

there's cornbread and chicken. Where I come from, a lot of front porch sittin. Where I come from, yer tryin' to make a livin' and workin' hard to get to Heaven, where I come from. [Some random country song that gets stuck in my head easily.]

I came to BYU Idaho to grow spiritually. I came to BYU Idaho to work on my problems.
I feel as if I have grown in some aspects spiritually. I still have lots to work on, fer sure, but I feel as if I have come quite some ways. Now, as for working on my problems... each and every day I realize a different problem I feel as though I have with myself and I try to remedy it. Sometimes I need isolation to do this. I like to go out, have a fun evening, then come home and be vegged out, or be zen. I don't feel like I need to be doing something 100% of the time to be happy. I'm happy being happy. I am happy when I have a good time out, then I focus on the self. Cause, honestly, the self needs a lot of help, and I don't want to rely on others to fix this self anymore. I honestly don't trust others to fix my problems or provide me with the advice they think I need. Frankly, everyone is biased. Yupp, I'm biased too. That's why I need to sit and meditate or write. What are the pros? What are the cons? Emotions aside, how does this actually affect me? So on and so forth. As frustrated as I get with him sometimes, Gabe has been instrumental in this process. He tells me what he thinks, which is biased, because it is what he thinks, but he presents it in a way that at first, pisses me off, then makes me think and during that thinking process, I am able to take his words and consider the problem in a different light. I like that.

So, tonight... what am I thinking about? You'd like to know, wouldn't you?
Well, I'll tell you a bit of it.
I'm thinking of Piper, my friend's baby. I'm thinking of how I grow attached to her. I tried to steal her tonight, but Piper's mommy had something to say about that, lol. I've always said that I want such an amount of children... which, when I was younger was two. When I joined the church, I said I wanted six for doctrinal reasons that I don't really want to explain, but it's rad. [If anyone REALLY wants to know why, email me, yo! cat.catharsis@gmail.com] But now I'm REALLY thinking about it. Like, the reality of it. Me being a responsible parent and having to really teach a child what I believe is true and right. It really excites me. =] With that said, I want about twelve kids. Just Kidding!! I don't want to settle on a number. I want to settle on quality. I want to have as many kids as my future spouse is able to provide for. Not provide such as spoil, but provide for as in clothe and feed every day. I don't want to have to decide between groceries or mortgage. I want to be able to afford both mortgage and groceries, but if groceries need to be in moderation, I'm content with that. =] I want kids. haha.

<3 I also want sleep. I will meditate on that now.

G'nite. =]

Reana

Reana is such a great friend. She is so non-judgmental, kind, compassionate... she is just every good adjective out there. I'm so lucky to be considered her friend. I truly adore her. AND, I love watching scary movies with her.

It's part of her charm and something I admire in her. Anything freaky scares her. Horror movies, I've found, don't really freak me out much. I'm desensitized by it all. I will jump, but I don't scream out in terror. The things that scare me the most isn't comprised of murderers, blood, guts, gore, stalkers, etc, it's way more personal. If someone was going to kill me... then so be it. I'd obviously try to change that outcome but not the point.

I'm scared of emotional things. I'm scared to fall in love with someone so completely that I'm vulnerable. I'm scared that if I do love someone so completely... well... I'm just always scared of... stuff..

But, anyway... I wish I was scared of the silly stuff...

Make my soul brand new...

Let it all out
Get it all out
Rip it out
Remove it

Don't be alarmed
When the wound begins to bleed

Cause we're so scared to find out
What this life's all about
So scared we're going to lose it
Not knowing all along
That's exactly what we need

And today I will trust you with confidence
Of a man who's never known defeat
But tomorrow, upon hearing what I did

I will stare at you in disbelief
Oh inconsistent me
Crying out for consistency

And you said I know that this will hurt
But if I don't break your heart
Then things will just get worse
If the burden seems too much to bear
Remember the end will justify
The pain it took to get us there

And I'll let it be known
At time I have shown
Signs of all my weakness
But somewhere in me
There is strength

And you promise me
That you believe
In time I will defeat this
Cause somewhere in me
There is strength

And today I will trust you with the confidence
Of a man who's never known defeat
And I'll try my best to just forget
That that man isn't me (2x)

Reach out to me

Make my heart brand new
Every beat will be for you
For you

And I know you know
You touched my life
When you touched my heavy heart
And made it light

Make my heart brand new. <3>
I wish it was easy. I wish it was easy to figure out what is right and what is wrong. What do you need from your relationship? Gotta work it out. Work it out. Iron it out. Get rid of the controversy, the argumentation. Remember the basics. Remember that one lingering look from the other person should give shivers down your spine. Remember what it felt like the first time you kissed. Remember when your hands brushed against each others? Accidentally? Remember what you felt in the very center of your stomach, right next to your spine? When they come towards you, your heart pounds and you swear they can hear it... When everything was new and uncharted, how did you act? Basics... the basics. The basic smile and twinkle in your eyes that makes any day brand new. When in the dismal cover of clouds, just seeing their face made your day complete. Do you remember that? Why fight? Why disrespect? LISTEN to each other. Be HONEST. Don't hold back your thoughts. Hold back your wit and biting words. Be mature.

Excuse the vulgarity, but this summarizes it all in MANY different contexts.

Stop fighting.

I love you both,
and I want you both to figure it out.

Slow, daily realization

I know I was in the wrong.
And if I could shout it,
From the nearest mountain-top.
I would.... all night long.

I don't apologize to others to whom I became angered at when defenses were non-existent.
I will defend myself, and I pretty much expect you to as well.
But, I know I have CRAZY expectations. Gosh.

It seems futile

I don't know anymore. I honestly don't know. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing. I know I haven't done the right thing in the past and I ruined good relationships.

I don't hate you and I realize now that I don't wan you to hate me. I don't think we can be good friends anymore, but I just want to be chill.

I'm being led in so many directions, I could explode.

tell me,

why is it that when I think I'm standing on firm ground,
someone I love creates an earthquake?

Forgiveness

Amish school shooting.

Dr. Sidney Simon, a recognized authority on values realization, has provided an excellent definition of forgiveness as it applies to human relationships:

“Forgiveness is freeing up and putting to better use the energy once consumed by holding grudges, harboring resentments, and nursing unhealed wounds. It is rediscovering the strengths we always had and relocating our limitless capacity to understand and accept other people and ourselves.”

Most of us need time to work through pain and loss. We can find all manner of reasons for postponing forgiveness. One of these reasons is waiting for the wrongdoers to repent before we forgive them. Yet such a delay causes us to forfeit the peace and happiness that could be ours. The folly of rehashing long-past hurts does not bring happiness.

Some hold grudges for a lifetime, unaware that courageously forgiving those who have wronged us is wholesome and therapeutic.

Forgiveness comes more readily when, like the Amish, we have faith in God and trust in His word. Such faith “enables people to withstand the worst of humanity. It also enables people to look beyond themselves. More importantly, it enables them to forgive.”

All of us suffer some injuries from experiences that seem to have no rhyme or reason. We cannot understand or explain them. We may never know why some things happen in this life. The reason for some of our suffering is known only to the Lord. But because it happens, it must be endured. President Howard W. Hunter said that “God knows what we do not know and sees what we do not see.”

President Brigham Young offered this profound insight that at least some of our suffering has a purpose when he said: “Every calamity that can come upon mortal beings will be suffered to come upon the few, to prepare them to enjoy the presence of the Lord. … Every trial and experience you have passed through is necessary for your salvation.”

If we can find forgiveness in our hearts for those who have caused us hurt and injury, we will rise to a higher level of self-esteem and well-being. Some recent studies show that people who are taught to forgive become “less angry, more hopeful, less depressed, less anxious and less stressed,” which leads to greater physical well-being. Another of these studies concludes “that forgiveness … is a liberating gift [that] people can give to themselves.”

In our day the Lord has admonished us, “Ye ought to forgive one another,” and then makes it requisite when He says, “I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men.

A sister who had been through a painful divorce received some sound advice from her bishop: “Keep a place in your heart for forgiveness, and when it comes, welcome it in.” For the Amish, it was already there because “forgiveness is a ‘heartfelt’ component of [their] religion.” Their example of forgiveness is a sublime expression of Christian love.

Here in Salt Lake City in 1985, Bishop Steven Christensen, through no fault of his own, was cruelly and senselessly killed by a bomb intended to take his life. He was the son of Mac and Joan Christensen, the husband of Terri, and the father of four children. With his parents’ consent, I share what they learned from this experience. After this terrible deed, the news media followed members of the Christensen family around relentlessly. On one occasion this media intrusion offended one of the family members to the point that Steven’s father, Mac, had to restrain him. Mac then thought, “This thing will destroy my family if we don’t forgive. Venom and hatred will never end if we do not get it out of our system.” Healing and peace came as the family cleansed their hearts from anger and were able to forgive the man who took their son’s life.

We recently had two other tragedies here in Utah which demonstrate faith and the healing power of forgiveness. Gary Ceran, whose wife and two children were killed on Christmas Eve when their vehicle was hit by a truck, immediately expressed his forgiveness and concern for the alleged drunk driver. Last February, when a car crashed into Bishop Christopher Williams’s vehicle, he had a decision to make, and it was to “unconditionally forgive” the driver who had caused the accident so that the healing process could take place unhampered.14

What can we all learn from such experiences as these? We need to recognize and acknowledge angry feelings. It will take humility to do this, but if we will get on our knees and ask Heavenly Father for a feeling of forgiveness, He will help us. The Lord requires us “to forgive all men” for our own good because “hatred retards spiritual growth.” Only as we rid ourselves of hatred and bitterness can the Lord put comfort into our hearts, just as He did for the Amish community, the Christensens, the Cerans, and the Williams family.

Of course, society needs to be protected from hardened criminals, because mercy cannot rob justice. Bishop Williams addressed this concept so well when he said, “Forgiveness is a source of power. But it does not relieve us of consequences.” When tragedy strikes, we should not respond by seeking personal revenge but rather let justice take its course and then let go. It is not easy to let go and empty our hearts of festering resentment. The Savior has offered to all of us a precious peace through His Atonement, but this can come only as we are willing to cast out negative feelings of anger, spite, or revenge. For all of us who forgive “those who trespass against us,” even those who have committed serious crimes, the Atonement brings a measure of peace and comfort.

Let us remember that we need to forgive to be forgiven. In the words of one of my favorite hymns, “Oh, forgive as thou wouldst be e’en forgiven now by me.” With all my heart and soul, I believe in the healing power that can come to us as we follow the counsel of the Savior “to forgive all men.”

-President James E. Faust

I've forgiven you time and time again, but every time I do, something happens to make me ask myself, "Did I make a mistake forgiving you again?" I try my hardest to let go, and I pretty much succeed, but I can't keep talking to you. I can't have you in my life for a long time, perhaps perpetually. I don't know. But I do know that in order to feel peace, we shouldn't talk to one another again for a long time. I can't keep feeling this dread when I look into my inbox and see your name, wait fifteen minutes, open whatever you sent me, then instantly hate everything. Scars don't fade, I know that better than some, and I know I left you scarred. I don't take out my scars on the people who scarred me; I move on. Thus I am now moving on. I recommend you do the same as well. Please, do not talk to me and do not try contact me. I promise you, it is in your best interest. I want you to get better, to move on, to press forward in life, pursue your dream career, and don't regret anything. I don't regret a single day of my life thus far, and it is my goal to never regret a day henceforth, either. The Savior taught me to love everyone, and you know what? I do. I love everyone. I love everyone who has hurt me personally. I love everyone who has hurt me accidentally. I love people who have betrayed me. I love people who attack my sister. I love the people who are incarcerated for heinous crimes. I even love those who are fighting the wars against my country. I have a love for everyone, and thanks to your email today, I realize how much I have the ability to love even those who attack who I am. Yeah, I'm a little bitter about the low-blows you made, but whatever, I still pray for you.

I wish you enough. I wish you get enough out of life to be happy. I want you to be happy. I wish you get enough love in life. I want you to experience love. I wish you give enough love in life. I want you to give love, always, in this life. I wish you enough. I want you to have enough. The best isn't always the best, but enough? Enough is everything. Enough to live life. I wish you enough forgiveness.

Beautiful!

It has been completely gorgeous lately. I love when it is 47 degrees. I wish it were not as windy, but take what you can get. Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to wear a skirt today, but it was COMFY, man! My window is fully open right now and it is 38 degrees here. But 38 is so WARM. You'd expect it to feel so cold, well, I would expect it to feel so cold-- I'm a New Englander after all. =P It says that the humidity is 70%, but I don't believe it. It still feels so DRY. And I hope the summer is a dry heat like I was promised.

I can't wait to send stuff home. Haha. I have so much of it! My parents are sending me a box of stuff that should be here by Monday, latest.. I hope. So, I will use that box and send stuff right back to them. If it's big enough, maybe I can get a coat or two in there.

So, aside from Gabe, my best friend out here is Kevin-Ashley. I can't separate them. They're married for Pete's sake. [I know, always blaming Pete.] But, I LOVE talking to Kevin when I need advice, and I'm sure that I will be talking to Ashley soon enough for some advice. They are some smart people, fo' sho. They have gone through a lot of different and difficult trials in their lives and I know I can turn to them because they can relate in SOME way to an aspect of my trials. And they're just fun to talk to. I got to talk to Kevin today, so I'm wicked in a good mood. I really do look forward to seeing them. I get to see them this Thursday if plans work out, AND on Sunday, and if they go to the Logan fire-side, I'll see them Monday. But, I'm going to get to meet SO MANY rad new people on Monday. I'm pumped and really really nervous. 90% excited and 10% scared, or maybe the other way around. :P

And as kind of an aside... girls here are WAY over-the-top, O.D., touchy-feely. Like, in church they scratch eachother's backs, run their fingers through eachother's hair, rub their backs.. it's just so odd. I mean, church is isolation time. For realz, let me study the gospel by my self without you touching me. It's just so strange to me. Haha. No wonder I'm not getting any female friends around here.. I'm not physical enough. ;)

I haven't seen LOTR III since my baptism, and I get it. Haha. I see all the analogies. The Chosen One, the temptation, how the Chosen One bore all our suffering. I'm REALLY corny, I know, but if you really invest your time into it, you can see it all. In all reality, Christ is kind of personified by both Gandalf and Frodo. But Gandalf is like Heavenly Father as well, which, to be frank, Christ and Heavenly Father are one in the same. :P
Imma shut up before I sound TOO much like a total nerd.
HAHAH. And I want everyone to know that I totally watched the extended version and the credits are 21 minutes long. CRAZY, I KNOW. They list EVERYONE who is involved in the official LOTR fan club though, and that is over 100,000 names, legit. It costs forty dollars per year to be an official fan. Elijah Wood, who played Frodo, was the first member of this club. Go figure. Second was probably Peter Jackson, director of the films. He is one of my heroes. =]Oddly enough, I can't seem to find this fan club.... hmmm.. just info on it. Not that I was going to join at FORTY dollars per year. Gosh.

Favorite quotes from LOTR III

Because I am that much of a dork...

"Home is behind, the world ahead... And there are many paths to tread. Through shadow, to the edge of night, until the stars are all alight... Mist and shadow, cloud and shade, all shall fade... all... shall... fade... "

"I will not say, Do not weep, for not all tears are an evil."

"I don't want to be in a battle. But waiting on the edge of one I can't escape is even worse."

"You think you are wise... Yet for all your subtleties, you have not wisdom. Do you think the eyes of the White Tower are blind? I have seen more than you know. With your left hand you would use me as a shield against Mordor, and with your right you would seek to supplant me."

"This day does not belong to one man but to all. Let us together rebuild this world that we may share in the days of peace."

"Tonight we remember those who gave their blood to defend this country. Hail the victorious dead."

"How do you pick up the pieces of an old life? How do you go on? When in your heart you begin to understand, there is no going back. [Frodo sits at Bilbo's writing desk.] There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts go too deep... and they've taken hold."

Sam: Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo? It'll be spring soon. And the orchards will be in blossom. And the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And they'll be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields... and eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries?

Frodo: No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food... nor the sound of water... nor the touch of grass. I'm... naked in the dark. There's... There's nothing. No veil between me and the wheel of fire. I can see him... with my waking eyes.

Sam: Then let us be rid of it... once and for all. Come on, Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you... but I can carry you.

The reason why I love this movie so much is that it shows that you have to fight the evils that are presented before you. But it also shows the compassion and love of those who fight the same battle against evil. Some, like Boromir, aren't completely able to fight that battle and are susceptible to the powers of evil, but Boromir wasn't evil himself. He was proud and his pride was his downfall. Faramir, on the other hand, was completely humble and tried so hard to make his father proud. But his father was proud, not of him, but proud and greedy. He fell to evil. LOTR just shows the traits of mankind that lead to abominations that are not mankind-like. Orcs. SO, moral of this story, is if you become evil, I shall call you an Orc.

So, Stephen, my FHE brother is a dink. It IS official.

1. I asked him at about 4 today, if he could take me to the store. I NEVER ask him for anything whereas my room-mates ask him to go ALL the time. I asked him and I was like, "I hate asking, but I REALLY need to get to the store today. He was like "SURE! right after FHE tonight!" Well, FHE ended and then he got online and was like 'OH SNAP, I NEED TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES.' So, I let him alone for a while cause, I get it, classes are important, but he could have registered ON TIME when he was supposed to. So then he is asking me who is a better teacher, what classes does he need to take, so on and so forth. Then he gets up to leave at like, nine. I asked him where he was going, as if to the store, and he said that he had to go home and register for classes. We worked out a deal, though, that he would be able to bring me [and Brittany] after he registered, so he would be back.

It is 11:30 and he still didn't come back. I texted him to ask how his registration was going and he was just like "fine." Yeah, thanks.

2. Sarai was eating and he threw his dirty disgusting napkin at her, it landed on her pizza, she was WICKED offended that he would throw his trash at her while she was eating, and since she has this thing about her food and foreign objects coming in contact with it, she wasn't able to eat it. Guess who was able to eat it? Stephen. Go figure.

Rude to the max.

So, I have no food. I have no water. And WE as a dorm, don't have toilet paper.

But, I can pop, lock and drop it. :P
Twenty four days.

Some days.... I really wish I were born male.

Looking forward

I'm tired of empty promises, lies and being walked over. Because I'm over. I'm over this.

So next semester I'm taking six classes which is thirteen credits.
I know, right? SIX classes?! Thirteen credits. Wow.
MW- Communications 10:15-11:15
MW- World Foundations 11:30-12:30
F- Intro to English studies 11:30-12:30
MWF- Natural Disasters (science) 2-3
TT- Book of Mormon 11:30-12:30
TT- Fundamentals of Literary Interpretation 3-4:30

My major is going to be English with an emphasis in Creative Writing instead of English Education. My minor is still up in the air, but I think it would be cool to do photography. Yep...

Haha. So, I'm hoping I'm able to ACTUALLY SCHEDULE these classes. Haha. Sunday night at midnight I'll be trying to get all these. I'll probably do the open multiple browsers and hit "add class" as quickly as I can. Haha.

But I have it planned out so that my communications and world foundations classes are in the same building, so I'd REALLY like for this to work out. I am not a big fan of the whole running to class cause I only have fifteen minutes between classes. And the whole hoping that Brother Stricklan doesn't keep us later than 12:30 so that I can get to my math class in time. I mean, yeah, math is only in the next building over, but then I have to run up the stairs and I can't stay late in my science class to talk to my teacher if I need to.

The one thing I really don't like about college is that I can't know my teachers. Well, I can... it's just more complicated. Like, in high school, I knew my teachers really well. I knew where they lived, I knew how many kids they had, I knew how much coffee they drank, (Mr. Lambert and his never ending coffee, lol.) But, in high school I could have conversations with my teachers. Like, Senora and I would talk every day. Morse, Mrs. Dimock, Mrs. Wood, Mr. Hallin, Mrs. Vaughn... I would have email conversations with Mr. Roberts on occasion.. Then there was Fontaine. Haha, who took me to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Mr. S took me on a kayaking trip, he took me [and friends] snow-shoeing. In the seventh grade we went snow-shoeing and went to the water tower with a measuring tape and we did some estimating, but we calculated the volume of the water tower. Mrs. Moulton's favorite candy was skittles and she was just recently married, but still kind of flirted with Mr. Leblanc. Then Mr. Leary was a total clown.. HAHHA. I could go on for infinity. But here? Hahahaha. My teacher Gary Marshall was a mission president in some place that starts with the letter "M" and I don't know how many kids he has. He's Mormon so he must have kids. Brother Stricklan..... he knows a lot about bear poop. I think it's bears anyway. Sister Youngberg almost got married last year... Sister Pigott has a boy about 17 years old. Brother Chapman...... he likes West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof therefore he must be a good guy. :P OH and Sister Pigott is a big fan of parallelism and hyphenated words and phrases. Yupp.

Moving forward.
Looking forward.
Freeing myself.

[Oh, and it helps that the sun has been out lately. haha.]

This song makes me LOL

Loose lips might sink ships, but loose gooses take trips
To San Francisco, double dutch disco,
Tech TV hottie, do it for scotty,
Do it for the living and do it for the dead,
Do it for the monsters under your bed,
Do it for the teenagers and do it for your mom,
Broken hearts hurt but they make us strong and

We won't stop until somebody calls the cops,
And even then we'll start again and just pretend that
Nothing ever happened.

We won't stop until somebody calls the cops,
And even then we'll start again and just Pretend that
Nothing ever happened.

We're just dancing, we're just hugging,
Singing, screaming, kissing, tugging
On the sleeve of how it used to be
How's it gonna be?
I'll drop kick Russell Stover, move into the starting over house
And know Matt Rouse and jest are watching me achieve my dreams
And we'll pray, all damn day, every day,
That all this shit our president has got us in will go away
While we strive to figure out a way we can survive
These trying times without losing our minds

So if you wanna burn yourself, remember that I love you
And if you wanna cut yourself, remember that I love you
And if you wanna kill yourself, remember that I love you
Call me up before your dead, we can make some plans instead
Send me an IM, I'll be your friend

Shysters live from scheme to scheme And my 4th quarter pipe dreams
Are seeming more and more worth fighting for
So I'll curate some situations, make my job a big vacation
And I'll say "F**k Bush, and f**k this war."
My war paint is sharpie ink and I'll show you how much my shit stinks,
And ask you what you think because your thoughts and words are powerful.
They think we're disposable, well both my thumbs opposable
Are spelled out on a double word and triple letter score

We won't stop until somebody calls the cops,
And even then we'll start again and just Pretend that
Nothing ever happened.

We won't stop until somebody calls the cops,
And even then we'll start again and just pretend that
Nothing ever happened.

We're just dancing, we're just hugging,
Singing, screaming, kissing, tugging
On the sleeve of how it used to be

*Ahem, pardon the 3 words that aren't amazing words to use.*

New England

TRAPPED.
SUFFOCATING.
LANDLOCKED.
CLAUSTROPHOBIC.

I need to get out.
I need to see the ocean,
feel the salty breeze on my cheek.
I need to feel embraced by trees all around me.
This place is a barren waste land.
I need reality, not surreality.
I need to feel the music in my veins again.
I need to go somewhere and feel the bass in my stomach.

The bass of a bass guitar, not rap bass.
I need to feel the warm sun beating on my skin.
I need space. Physical space.
I need a place to call mine own.
I'm not home-sick. I don't miss my house, my parents, my sister.
I miss me... I don't know who I am or why I'm here.
I thought it'd be easy to just take some classes and figure out who I am.
But it just made me realize how hollow I am. How driven without a purpose I am.

I have the ability to have a purpose... and I can't find one I like.
I don't want to have a career but I don't want to be the stay at home mom who turns into a blob... I want and need a purpose. If I do turn out to be a stay at home mom.. I want to be a good one. Not just the one who wakes up late, rushes the kids, then watches Ellen, Rachel Ray, Oprah, etc all day. I'm pretty sure I don't want cable. Maybe I don't want a TV cause it's just a reason to do nothing all day. Same with a computer.. unless it's in a remote place of the house.. Like, back in the day, my household computer was in the attic. 40 degrees in the winter tops and 80 degrees minimum during the summer [and many MANY bees found their way up there.]

This isn't it.

Wicked long ranty post. =]

No one really notices me out here. Haha. Is that a blessing in disguise? It's really odd, actually. Like, I used to be good at striking up conversations with strangers, but out here, I feel strange talking to strange people. My only friends are Gabe's friends, my room-mates and our FHE brothers. I think I'm afraid to actually talk to guys out here because it feels like the only message around here is "GET MARRIED AND PRODUCE PERFECT MORMON CHILDREN," so, why would I want to talk to guys again?

Actually, it's kinda strange. Ok, there is this one guy who I THINK wants to try and say at least the word 'hi' to me. This guy is in my American Foundations class and looks like Luke Tozier..... only significantly quieter. :P But, anyway, he suddenly changed his seating habit so that he is a row across from me, then today he showed up at lunch.. and when Gabe left he had a clear view of me. So I tried to be as ugly as possible. It was actually great fun. I took my Sobe, grasped as best as I could like a beer bottle and threw it back like one. I figured, eh, he's a Mormon, he should be turned off by that. But he kept looking anyway. Then I was just like, Dang, maybe I have a snot or something. The though crossed my mind to just pick my nose in front of him.. but I figured that is too drastic. haha. Anyway, he is blond. [So, don't you worry your 'brunette' head off, Gabe, I'm just not that into blonds. hahahah :P ]

I just really miss male-friend interaction. Like, I WICKED miss chilling at the Fire Department, even if that meant dealing with Riley. I miss wrestling Tom in my livingroom while listening to Ligeia. You know? HAHAH. I miss chilling with Scuba Steve at his house watching some good flicks, tricking him into eating the red peppers from the General Tso's chicken, eaves dropping on his brother banging some ugly chick. Haha, or Scuba trying to get me to learn how to play pool. I didn't want to learn from HIM. =P I have my reasons. LOLZ.

I'm strange to miss that, right? LOL. I know. I even have gone so far as to admit that I miss the smell of the guys after they take off their fire-gear. The smell of stale, acrid smoke, the distinct smell of water from a hydrant, and sweat. Oooh, and the smell of a leather helmet as it burns. The smell of the exhaust from the engine. Yeahhh...

So here is my fave song from Secondhand Serenade:

Share with me the blankets that you're wrapped in
Because it's cold outside cold outside, it's cold out side
Share with me the secrets that you kept in
Because it's cold inside cold inside, it's cold inside

And your slowly shaking finger tips
Show that your scared like me so
Lets pretend were alone
And I know you may be scared
And I know we're unprepared
But I don’t care

Tell me tell me
What makes you think that you are invincible
I can see it in your eyes that you're so sure
Please don’t tell me that I am the only one that’s vulnerable
Impossible

I was born to tell you I love you
Isn't that a song already
I get a B in originality
And it's true I can't go on without you
Your smile makes me see clear
If you could only see in the mirror what I see

And your slowly shaking finger tips
Show that your scared like me so
Lets pretend were alone
And I know you may be scared
And I know we're unprepared
But I don’t care

Tell me tell me
What makes you think that you are invincible
I can see it in your eyes that you're so sure
Please don’t tell me that I am the only one that’s vulnerable
Impossible

Slow down girl you're not going any where
Just wait around and see
Maybe I'm much more; you never know what lies ahead
I promise I can be anyone I can be anything
Just because you were hurt doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bleed
I can be anyone, anything, I promise I can be what you need

Tell me tell me
What makes you think that you are invincible
I can see it in your eyes that you're so sure
Please don’t tell me that I am the only one that’s vulnerable
Impossible.
Such a good band. =] I love 'em.

I haven't been sleeping well lately. I have been talking in my sleep. Not just talking, but apparently I was screaming the other night. I can usually remember my dreams or what I was talking about in my dreams. Most of the dreams where I talk out-loud involve someone dying, or me betraying someone. Like, a long time ago, two to three years ago, I had a dream that there was a huge hurricane and there was a huge evacuation in progress, and I went to assist with the evacuation. So, I went into this huge valley like thing, helping people out, and it was one heck of a valley. Like, walls of mountains completely surrounding this area I was helping. Then, all of a sudden, it turned into a football arena and everyone was there in that arena thing. Cots, children, elderly, food stuffs, etc. And it was an open arena. All of a sudden [all of a sudden happens a lot in my dreams,] it starts raining and raining and RAINING. Hard core raining. A helicopter hovered over and began getting the people out, quickly, because the arena was shaped like a bowl and was apparently water-tight. We got most of the people out and all of a sudden [go figure] I found myself with a rope around my waist, being hoisted into the air into the helicopter and I began yelling at whoever hooked me up to the rope, "THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL DOWN THERE. WE HAVE TO SAVE THEM. WE NEED TO GET THEM OUT. THEY'R
E GOING TO DROWN!"

I was informed the next day by my father that I was a cruel person for letting those people die. I yelled that out in my sleep. Crazies.

Then during the whole transition period from one boyfriend to the other, I had a dream that they were in the same room and one had a knife and began to attack the other, so I yelled out the victim's name in my sleep.

If I fall asleep soon after being on the phone, or while I am still on the phone, I sometimes think that person is with me... in my bed. I woke up once having a conversation with Gabe... thinking he was there. haha. Awkwarrrrrd.

Haha. Thinking back on all these occurrences makes me wonder how my dad claims to be a light sleeper. I scream in my sleep often. :P

I've had dreams where I get pushed.. or jump.. off of something and fall for a long time.. and scream.. then when I hit the "ground" I literally jump while in bed.

Anyway... my recent talking adventures in Rexburg have been fun. I once was talking in my sleep about how amazing I was for finishing my homework. "I'm so amazing! I finished all my homework. I'm so proud of myself." Then just within the last week or two, I have been starting to trust my room-mate a lot.... I tell her secrets while I sleep.. but she doesn't listen to me. She thinks it would be rude to listen to what I say in my s leep. But the other night, which worries me, I was screaming "WHAT THE HELL" in my sleep over and over and I was thrashing around in my bed. My roomie tried to wake me up by yelling at me and also by shaking me... I didn't wake. I have NO idea what I was dreaming. Last night, though, I'm pretty sure I was talking in my sleep. I had a dream that my grandpa died then like, three days later my grandma passed on. That wasn't a cool dream. My grandparents are RAD. Then my next dream was that I was wandering around downtown Rochester alone at
night, trying to evade a psychopathic killer. Fun times... let me tell you. And this is so my killer. I found him. On deviant art. =]

Shortii had a bad day.

Shorii say what?

Shortii say "Graham Crackers."

I knew happiness; true happiness

...and when we were there, he grasped my hand outside of the confirmation room, crouched down in front of me and said, "We did it. We worked so hard to get here, and here we are. We are WORTHY to be here, and that is the only way you should ever enter in here, Catherine." Tears streamed down my face unabashedly and I knew what happiness, true happiness was. And I knew in that very moment, that I could not be married anywhere else but in that EXACT temple. And I hoped with all my might that that man crouching in front of me would be there with me. And I watched as a trail of tears streamed down his beautiful face and I wondered what he was thinking. But then again, I knew what he was thinking. He was thinking that this was happiness, true happiness.
